MCCE visit to JFC/JLSG Brunssum

On 20 January 2026, the Movement Coordination Centre Europe (MCCE) Director, accompanied by representatives from the Operations Division, visited Brunssum (NLD) for meetings with Tom Laermans, ACOS J4 Joint Force Command Brunssum, and Johan Poncia, Chief of Staff Joint Logistics Support Group Brunssum.

Additional staff officers from both headquarters also participated in the discussions.

During the visit, the MCCE delegation received comprehensive briefings from both units and, in return, provided an overview of the MCCE organisation, its mandate, and the services it offers. The meetings enabled a constructive exchange of views on a broad range of Movement and Transportation related topics at the operational level.

Together with MCCE’s ongoing engagement with Joint Support and Enabling Command, this visit reflects a parallel and complementary approach to NATO, aimed at further strengthening cooperation with the Alliance. Several opportunities for enhanced collaboration and mutual support were identified, including the provision of augmentees, LOGFAS training, cooperation during NATO exercises, and MCCE broker support to both JFC and JLSG Brunssum.

The next step will be to make this cooperation more tangible by adopting a bottom-up approach, starting at staff officer level and gradually expanding upward.
