The Director MCCE, accompanied by Chief Operations, Cell Chief AAR, the XO and functional area SMEs from AT and IST, conducted an engagement meeting with the Hungarian Defence Forces at the Military Operations Logistic Support Centre. Hosted by the Commander, Brigadier General Solymosi, his Deputy, Colonel Kiss and key players from their Movements Team we had a full session of briefings and discussions which focused on current, planned and potential activity and investigating areas for HUN to gain greater benefit from the opportunities offered by the MCCE network.
We also explored the potential for HUN to use their assets, facilities and services for the wider mission, particularly as they are a major Host Nation Support contributor. There are some additional potential opportunities on the horizon with the introduction of the KC390 Tanker/Transport aircraft which is in the very early stages of its introduction to service in HUN. MCCE stand-by to facilitate specific KC-390 working groups if this would be of benefit to the user nations.
The HUN staff officers reiterated the benefits that the wider MCCE network provides for the passage of information, knowledge exchange and sharing of experience; particularly the Ops meetings and the opportunity to speak face to face with their counterparts in other nations.
We are grateful to the General and his Deputy for an excellently hosted and productive meeting. In the evening, we took the opportunity for a tour of some of Budapest’s highlights at a very rapid marching pace with our very own HUN staff officer in the lead and then met our HUN colleagues for a fantastic meal – thank you Team.
