The 29th Air Transport (AT) Operations meeting was hosted by USA in Edelweiss Lodge and Resort, Garmisch-Partenkirchen over 29 and 30 Oct 19.
The meeting was attended by over 50 representatives from 21 MCCE member nations and partner organisations.
The meeting was mainly an update on MCCE business, provided by Air Transport (AT) Cell members and ATARES Secretariat. External presenters included Heavy Airlift Wing, SALCC and NSPA. The MCCE member nations presented their National updates.
Following successful introduction at the last meeting in Quebec, an interactive forum was conducted. The interactive forum gives to the national representatives the opportunity to explore topics of interest and generate debate and actions for continuous improvement. One of the topics for this forum was the support to operations in Africa. The outcome of this interactive forum was that an Africa working group, to be facilitated by MCCE, is advisable for sharing information and best practices and to promote a possible “lead nation concept. MCCE will investigate feasibility based on the feedback from meeting.
The next meeting will be hosted by the Netherlands in Spring 2020 and will be held in Amersfoort.
